Once upon a time,
a great evil was defeated by a hero
- or so does the legend say.

The final battle ended in a great flash of light,
and a thundering boom.

Nothing remained except for a single antler

from the deer hide worn by the brave warrior.

The fae folk planted the antler  in the sacred grove,
believing the hero would return
in their darkest hour.

And the hour has grown quite dark now.

I decided to make a short game in a week. As of this writing, that was two years and a month ago.

Antler is a tiny game focused mainly on presentation, but it has a menu so it's a real game! (Just a little joke. I never made a game with a proper main menu before.)

It consists of 5 or 6 minigames (last two are kind of similar) that play out one after another, creating a short story about healing the queen of fairies.

The "demo" version contains the full story, but if you'd like to support my work, you would be very welcome to purchase the supporter's edition which contains two more challenging game difficulty settings.

Default controls by phase:

1. Use mouse to collect the wisps

2. A and D to turn towards the next step

3. WASD to move, mouse to aim your healing spell at the corrupted fairies. The healing spell fires the moment you collect a wisp from the ground.

4. Use mouse to move. Avoid the bolts.

5. WASD to move, hold LMB to rapid-fire your healing spell. Avoid the bolts from the hive and heal all the corrupted fairies before they descend upon you, while also focusing the hive before the timer on it runs out.

6. Same as before, but this time you need to avoid the lightning bolts and the corrupted Fairy Queen herself. You need to pay her some attention with your healing spell in between dodging the lightning bolts and healing the corrupted pixies while she's on the ground, because once she lands she will start to charge her disintegrate spell. Make her retreat before the timer on her runs out!

Press ESC to pause in all phases.

The instructions are also accessible from the main menu, and there's a little tutorial message at the beginning of each phase for easy and medium difficulties.

Thank you for checking out my game, glhf and have a nice day <3

Nice little game! :-)

I had not read the instructions before so I had to figure out the controls and mechanics myself, but to me it added to the fun.  The game gives enough feedback so that it's possible to "learn on the job".

Thanks, it was fun! :)
